Full-time summer contract role handling social media and communications for the Eastern Synod. Planning and producing content across the synod's channels, writing and designing communications for congregations and the wider community, and helping modernize how the organization reaches and engages a younger audience online.

MSSWR Gala — Volunteer
MSSWR Gala
Volunteered at the MSSWR Gala (June 11, 2026). Ran guest registration and check-in at the front desk — signing guests in and welcoming them with strong customer-service skills — then served guests their meals throughout the dinner program. Comfortable juggling several guests at once and keeping the experience smooth and friendly even during the busiest stretches.
STEAM ICAC 2026 - CS Showcase
University of Toronto
Presented a saliency-aware video codec at the STEAM Innovation Challenge Annual Conference (U of Toronto). Using YOLOv8 and optical flow to keep only salient regions before H.265 encoding, it cut 1080p surveillance footage by 81% (33.9 → 6.5 MB) while holding 34.76 dB PSNR on salient content.
MechMania - Engineering Competition
MechMania
Competed in MechMania, a mechanical engineering competition where teams design and build automated systems to shoot pucks into goals. Led the initial planning session that pivoted the team toward the conveyor belt mechanism concept. Fully built the controller system from scratch alongside peers. At the final competition, went undefeated through a full ladder tournament format, defeating all 11 opposing teams to claim First Place out of 12 teams total.

Volunteer Advisor at Global Heart Sync.org (March-May 2026), focused on helping the organization reach a younger audience. Advised on how to restructure the app's flow and features so it feels intuitive and engaging for youth, and on the strategy needed to draw in and retain a younger demographic.
EurekaHacks - Hackathon Participant
EurekaHacks
Competed at EurekaHacks where the team built LangLua - a Chrome extension and React web app that turns passive web browsing into language immersion by replacing words on any page with real-time translations, AI-powered definitions (Gemini), and ElevenLabs pronunciation. Gamified with a credit and streak system across 10 supported languages.
Math Circles Participant
Math Circles (University Program)
Participated in Math Circles, an advanced university enrichment program (Dec 2025-Apr 2026), digging into concepts never touched in high school - from how circles were first defined to deriving them algebraically from first principles. Put in serious independent effort on proof-based number theory and combinatorics purely out of curiosity.

Hack the Valley
Competed at Hack the Valley 2025. Built Lyra Tutor AI - a Discord-integrated teaching assistant powered by real-time AI APIs. Focused on backend API integration and interactive AI functionality.
HackCanada - Hackathon Participant
HackCanada
Competed at HackCanada, one of Canada's national hackathons. Built Waypoint - an AI-powered case memory platform for social workers using Next.js, Auth0, Supabase, ElevenLabs, and Google Gemini. Placed Top 7th Overall in the General Track out of all competing teams.

Co-founded Tidal Tasks, an AI-powered task management startup. Reworked major parts of the app, led the mobile development, and ran multiple social media channels to grow the product and its community.
Geothermal Research Assistant
University of Waterloo
Assisted at the University of Waterloo geothermal energy lab, supporting soil durability testing for residential geothermal coil systems - measuring how different soil compositions conduct and retain heat when coils are buried underground for house heating and cooling. The work maps directly onto my thermodynamics studies, and it's exactly the kind of sustainable-energy research I'm eager to pursue further in university.
